iSalone 2024 in Milan
This year, environmental friendliness was emphasized: for example, Gallotti & Radice presented a set of coffee tables made from recycled glass, with a unique texture and tactile characteristic of glass, light and airy in any interior. The glass used is deeply recycled, which not only reduces the environmental impact, but also gives the product a unique character thanks to the individual hand-cut characteristics of each detail and item.
Frigerio focused on comfort and ergonomics of their new sofas; this year a new modular sofa – Dao Soft – was introduced, remarkable for its innovative and complex filling technology: polyurethane foam of various densities and Cloud Foam, covered with a layer of microflock, which provides complete comfort and softness with an instantly restoring surface after use.
SCIC Italia and Giellesse focused on sustainable materials and showcased innovative kitchen and walk-in wardrobe solutions that combine functionality and aesthetics.
The Fair was also marked by new aesthetic approaches and collaborations. This year, Rubelli put an emphasis on customization, collaborating with Martino Gamper, who created a modular chair, and Luke Edward Hall, who designed a unique wallpaper collection, Parade. The peculiarity of the new collections is the possibility to select and combine various elements of the chair and its finishing materials, depending on the client’s wishes, and themes to create a personalized wall covering matching a definite single living space.
Ceccotti celebrated the new Living Roots collection, revealing the main values that guide Ceccotti Collezioni when creating new lines for 2024: Passion is the core value of Ceccotti Collezioni’s design research when developing new forms and objects; Brilliance includes those products that are based on a pre-existing idea, based on already explored paths and reinvented to meet new requirements; Memory embraces works that come from the past, are part of our history and can be republished or presented in a new form. This brings us to this year’s theme: Living Roots. As the roots of Ceccotti Collezioni are alive and strong, they continue to generate inspiration and new design ideas despite being part of the heritage of different regions and cultures.
Kettal explored the idea of a dialogue between different environments – architectural interior and exterior, demonstrating V Pavilion by Vincent Van Duysen, inspired by the 1950s American modernism, which encapsulated a more industrial prospective of thought based on new and innovative building techniques and functionalism, emphasizing multifunctional open-plan spaces that are flexible, easily adaptable and modifiable to suit any lifestyle or environment.
Francesco Molon presented the new Prospettiva collection. This collection is a stunning melting pot of classic design and modern ideas, conceived by the Brand’s artistic director Nicola Gallizia.
